Tangerang Police are tracking down suspects in the murder case of a junior high school student in Vila Regency, Gebang Raya subdistrict, Periuk district, Tangerang.
Feri Atun, 14, was found by neighbors staggering from her home and covered with blood on Sunday. Her hands were tied together and she was trying to call out for help.
One neighbor, Mulyani, said Febri collapsed as soon as she stepped onto her porch.
“We were shocked and panicked because the house was also on fire and Febri’s parents were out at the time,” she said.
Neighbors rushed Febri to Sari Asih Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
“We have questioned a number of the victim’s neighbors as witnesses but are still developing the motives of the murder,” Tangerang Police detective chief for general crime Comr. Budhi Herdi Susyanto told journalists on Monday.
He said officers could not confirm whether the victim was also raped before she was killed until they receive the final results of the autopsy.
An officer conducting the autopsy at Tangerang General Hospital morgue said that initial examinations had found sperm in the victim’s vagina and underwear .
