C

handra M. Hamzah Position: KPK deputy chairman for investigations, and data and information.
Background: Lawyer
Note: Chandra is recognized as the second-most influential KPK leader after Antasari, and has led numerous high-profile cases. Chandra is believed to have been framed by joint ruling elites including the police and prosecutors. He is currently in police custody after transcripts of voice recordings revealing a plot to undermine the KPK circulated in the media last week. There was also a recording of law enforcers mentioning his name as a target for assassination.

Bibit Samad Rianto
Position: KPK deputy chairman for investigations, internal supervision and public complaints.
Background: Retired two-star police general
Note: Bibit is known to be the third-most influential KPK leader after Antasari and Chandra. Along with Chandra, Bibit has led numerous important cases involving big fish, and is believed to have been framed by police and prosecutors. He is currently in police custody after transcripts of wiretapped voice recordings revealing the plot to frame him circulated in the media last week.

Antasari Azhar Position: Former KPK chairman
Background: Prosecutor
Note: With his aggressive public-relations strategy, Antasari was undoubtedly KPK's most popular leader. His legacy included the prosecution of Aulia Pohan, the father-in-law of the president's eldest son. Antasari, whose election as KPK chairman was supported by the PDI-P and Golkar parties, is facing charges in court for his alleged role in the murder of Nasruddin Zulkarnaen. Police claim Antasari testified that KPK leaders had received bribes from Anggoro Widjojo, although he has never said so publicly.

Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji
Position: National Police chief of detectives
Background: Police, former deputy chairman of money laundering watchdog PPATK
Note: Susno is believed to have spearheaded a witch-hunt against KPK leaders, including engineering a plot to frame Chandra and Hamzah. The KPK has wiretapped Susno at least twice, recording his alleged attempts to extort businessman Boedi Sampoerna in return for retrieving the latter's money stuck in legal limbo in Bank Century. Susno is also widely quoted as coining the "Gecko vs. Crocodile" analogy, representing the KPK's struggle against the police.

Anggoro Widjojo Position: Director of PT Masaro Radiokom, a telecommunications contractor for the police, military and intelligence agencies.
Background: Businessman
Note: Anggoro fled to Singapore, which has no extradition treaty with Indonesia, to apparently avoid being prosecuted by the KPK, which alleged he had bribed lawmakers to secure a telecommunications contract with the Forestry Ministry. Anggoro met Antasari in Singapore and sent middlemen Ari Mulyadi and Edi Soemarsono to bribe other KPK leaders. However, Antasari denies ever having met Anggoro to help bribe the leaders, saying the meeting was aimed at seeking information about another bribery case involving KPK officials. In a transcript of a voice recording, Anggoro discusses with his brother Anggodo a plot to frame Chandra and Bibit.

Anggodo Widjojo
Position: Younger brother of Anggoro
Background: Businessman
Note: Based on a leaked transcript of a KPK voice recording, Anggodo played a key role in developing an alleged plot to set up Chandra and Bibit. Anggodo was wiretapped while speaking to high-ranking prosecutors about framing the KPK leaders. In the transcript, Anggodo tells Ari to make a false testimony against Chandra. Ari is told to claim he was ordered by Anggoro to pay Rp 5 billion to Chandra to halt an investigation into Anggoro. Anggodo has denied the wiretapped conversation ever took place.

Ari Muladi
Position: Middleman
Background: Unknown
Note: Ari initially claimed Anggoro had given him Rp 5.1 billion for KPK leaders to lift a travel ban on Anggoro. However, he later retracted the statement, saying he had never given any money to KPK leaders. However, police prosecutors insist his initial statement is evidence against KPK leaders. Anggoro has filed a case against Ari for deceiving him. Ari currently resides in a hidden location, and has publicly apologized to Chandra and Bibit for falsifying his testimony.
