State-owned infrastructure company PT Wijaya Karya (Wika) booked Rp 132.62 billion (US$13.5 million) in net profit during the first nine months of 2009, 56 percent higher than Rp 84.91 billion in the same period last year.
Infrastructure contributed Rp 101 billion of the total profit as of September.
The company gained a gross income of Rp 4.58 trillion as of September 2009, of which Rp 2.59 trillion was contributed by the infrastructure sector.
Wika president director Bintang Perbowo said Monday that the company was targeting to gain Rp 175 billion in profit by the end of 2009.
"We are also eyeing a housing project in Libya, following our success in bulding toll roads in Aljazair," he said. (bbs)
