New way to cross: Pedestrians use the new diagonal pedestrian crossing at the main intersection of Oxford Circus, in London, after the crossing was officially opened by Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. The new road and pedestrian diagonal junction is based on the Shibuya crossing in Tokyo, and is hoped to help relieve congestion of traffic and shoppers at Oxford Circus, one of the most crowded city center areas in Europe.
