MEDAN: Most of the former councilors of legislative councils in 28 regencies and municipalities in North Sumatra have not returned their official cars.

Only two among 27 councilors of the North Sumatra Legislative Council have returned their state owned cars.

The council secretary Ridwan Bustan said the return of the cars was still being processed.

But Ridwan declined to say when the process could be completed.

He said the council planned to offer to sell the cars to the former councilors in an auction.

One of the former councilors who have not returned the cars, Ibrahim Sakti Batubara, wanted to buy the car.

"If there is a chance, I want to buy the car through an auction," he said. -JP
