Police still in the dark over student murder

TANGERANG: Tangerang Police are still tracking down suspects in the recent murder of a junior high school student in Vila Regency, Gebang, Tangerang municipality.

"We have questioned a number of victim's neighbors as witnesses," Tangerang Police detective chief for general crimes Comr. Budhi Herdi Susyanto told reporters Monday.

Budhi also said he could not confirm whether the victim had been raped before the murder as his office had yet to receive the victim's autopsy results.

Neighbors saw Febri, 14, a student of SMPN 12 Tangerang junior high school, staggering out of her house with blood streaming from her neck on Sunday.

The neighbors then rushed the victim to Sari Asih Hospital, but she died from severe wounds. An officer who was conducting the autopsy on the body said they found dried sperm in the victim's body and underwear. - JP
