Legislator Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, the youngest son of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, had his debut in the House of Representatives' budget committee hearing Tuesday, meeting Finance Ministry officials.
Ibas, as he is popularly known, appears to still be learning about issues such as budget increases, which the ministry sent via letters to the House.
The Democratic Party legislator was relatively silent during the hearing. The committee is made up mostly of Democratic Party officials led by Yudhoyono.
A few members of the Presidential Guards waited outside the meeting room.
The meeting was the first between the House's new budget committee and the new government. Both were formed in October.
