The Attorney General's Office (AGO) is planning to question Deputy Attorney General Abdul Hakim Ritonga and a former assistant attorney general for intelligence affairs Wisnu Subroto over the alleged framing of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputies.
“[Our] internal affairs will question [them]. The Attorney General has said that it would be done immediately,” said AGO spokesman Didiek Darmanto in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Ritonga and Wisnu were allegedly involved in a plot to frame KPK deputies Chandra Hamzah and Bibit Samad Rianto, as indicated by voice recordings taped by the KPK, which were played publicly at the Constitutional Court on Tuesday.
The recordings revealed the role of Anggodo Widjojo, brother of graft suspect Anggoro Widjojo, in active communication with officials from the National Police and the AGO officials to develop a case against the KPK deputies.
Chandra and Bibit have been named suspects in bribery and power abuse case and had been detained by the police before they were released at midnight, Tuesday.
