Court continues hearing judicial review against KPK law

The Constitutional Court continues hearing a judicial review, filed by suspended Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chairmen Bibit S Rianto and Chandra M Hamzah against a 2002 law on the antigraft body, on Wednesday afternoon.

Bibit and Chandra have filed for a review at the Constitutional Court on the clause in the KPK law allowing suspension of commissioners, who are implicated in criminal cases.

The session, presided over by Mahfud MD, began at 1 p.m. Bibit and Chandra, who had just been released from police detention, attended the hearing.

The session began with responses from the government delivered by Justice and Human Rights Minister Patrialis Akbar.

The court will also listen to opinions from legal experts in the session.
