The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) says that it has managed to salvage some Rp 139.8 billion (US$14.5 million) of state funds from January to early November this year.
"That money comes from 31 successful convictions from 55 prosecutions of cases," KPK Interim Chairman Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean said during a hearing with the House of Representatives Commission III on Law and Human Rights in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Tumpak also said that the salvaged money had been transferred to both the central government and the regional governments.
Tumpak also said that the KPK was still intensively probing into several major corruption cases, such as the Century Bank scandal and the travelers' cheque scandal that allegedly involved a number of House legislators.
