National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Nanan Sukarna said Thursday police continued to question but not detain Anggodo Widjojo, the key person in a wiretapped conversation on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) framing, as Anggodo was not a suspect yet.
"His crimes, although still based on wiretapped conversation, have existed," he told a press conference.
"But, still we need enough evidences to charge him and declare him as suspect such as witness statement, expert statement, and letter."
Nanan said police also tried to avoid from being labelled as abusing their power in this case.
"Everything must be legal and legitimate," he added.
Anggodo was said to be released from the National Police headquarters detention center on Wednesday night.
