The fact-finding team called on President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono Thursday to take a quick and firm action against National Police chief of detectives Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji and Deputy Attorney General Abdul Hakim Ritonga over their involvement in Anggodo Widjojo’s wiretapped recordings of a corruption scandal.
“We are still not sure whether Susno has really resigned or not,” team chairman Adnan Buyung Nasution said, citing Susno as his example.
“Did Susno quit from his post as a detective chief or as the investigation leader of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputies Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M. Hamzah’s case or what?"
Ritonga has also reportedly submitted his resignation letter to the Attorney General Hendarman Supandji.
Adnan said a state institution official must not play games should he want to resign.
“Just do it, resign,” he said. “We need the President to take firm action against them.”
Susno and Ritonga were mentioned several times in the controversial wiretapped conversations between Anggodo and a number of police officers and prosecutors about a plot to frame KPK deputies Bibit and Chandra.
The Constitutional Court heard the recordings on Tuesday.
