When it comes to saving the environment, model-turned-actress Davina Veronica Hariadi is showing that she is doing more than just talking. In the past five years, the 31-year-old reveals, she has taken the concrete action of recycling water for nature's sake.

"The water that I use for bathing or washing my clothes, for example, goes toward cleaning my car or watering the plants," Davina says. "I also ask my domestic helper to do the same with this kind of *second' water." She said she started the practice in 2004 to support the conservation of water.

"I have been doing it since I joined WWF *World Wildlife Fund*," Davina says.

Your comments:
Davina, I am glad to hear that you are so environmentally conscious. Since the early 1990s, I have noticed how the majority of supermarkets in Europe and the United States, intentionally do not provide free plastic bags for their customers.

Instead, the customers must bring their own bags or buy each plastic bag they require.

You are certainly in a very good position to push this idea in our society, because you are young and people will listen. The idea is to make people aware that everybody can contribute to saving the environment.

I encourage you to write more on this issue.

Sadly, I am a bit of a skeptic when it comes to do-good models, actresses and actors. It seems that every celebrity I see featured in The Jakarta Post now has a cause they are supporting, which is great, if the reasons behind that affiliation are sincere and not merely a method of self-promotion.

I would really like to know exactly how one recycles bathwater, bearing in mind that long baths are pretty much unheard of in this country.

I was interested to read Davina makes savings on electricity. She says above, "I also do my best to always use teplok *kerosene-filled lamps* to save energy". Yeah, right!

Sorry darling, but I just cannot picture you, sitting at home using a kerosene lamp for light.

However, it is a picture I would love to capture, so if you like, you can contact me through my website.
