Fact-finding team to question Attorney General in KPK scandal

Following sessions with the National Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chiefs, a fact-finding team will question Attorney General Hendarman Supandji on Friday over the alleged plot to incriminate KPK deputies.

The team's secretary Denny Indrayana, who is also a presidential aid, said Thursday that the meeting with Hendarman was scheduled to start at 10 a.m. at the Presidential Advisory Council Office on Friday.

A number of Attorney General's Office (AGO) officials have been allegedly mentioned in a recorded telephone conversation with Anggodo Widjojo – a brother of graft suspect Anggoro Widjojo – in the plot to frame KPK deputy chiefs Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M. Hamzah in criminal cases.

KPK deputies Chandra Hamzah and Bibit Samad Rianto have been named suspects in bribery and power abuse cases in relation to Anggoro.

Having come under public scrutiny for their alleged role in a plot to frame the KPK leaders, Deputy Attorney General Abdul Hakim Ritonga and National Police Detective Chief Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji have tendered their resignation.
