A fact-finding team aims to dig deeper into the role of the Attorney General's Office (AGO) or its officials in the alleged plot to undermine the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) by framing two KPK deputies in criminal cases.

The eight-strong team, led by noted lawyer Adnan Buyung Nasution, plans to ask several questions to clarify the AGO's role in the alleged plot.

β€œIt's true that the [KPK deputies' case is being handled by the police. But there's a functional connection between the case and the police. The case will end up at the AGO before going to court,” said Adnan, opening their meeting at the Presidential Advisory Council office.

Adnan asked Hendarman to give every detail that the AGO has on the case in session to scrutinize the case on Saturday. The team is expecting Hendarman to also attend the session.

A number of Attorney General's Office (AGO) officials have been mentioned in a recorded telephone conversation with Anggodo Widjojo – a brother of graft suspect Anggoro Widjojo – in the plot to frame KPK deputy chiefs Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M. Hamzah in criminal cases.
