A fact-finding team, led by noted lawyer Adnan Buyung Nasution, begins questioning Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji, who had just resigned from the National Police chief of detective post, over an alleged plot to incriminate Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputies on Friday afternoon.
Before beginning the questioning session, which was closed for journalists, Adnan told Susno that the team appreciated his resignation.
“We [as a nation] do not have that culture of responsibility where officials voluntarily resign whenever they're implicated in serious troubles yet,” he said.
Susno's name was mentioned in a wiretapped phone conversation between Anggodo Widjojo and allegedly several high ranking officials of the police and the Attorney General' Office (AGO), allegedly plotting to fabricate evidence to frame KPK deputies in criminal cases.
Susno and Deputy Attorney General Abdul Hakim Ritonga have resigned following public pressure.
