JAKARTA: The Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Agency plans to transform 27 gas stations into parks next year.
Agency head Ery Basworo said it would need tens of billions of rupiah to convert the gas stations, totalling an area of 4.5 hectares, into city parks.
Ery said 25 gas stations had stopped operating last month.
The two remaining gas stations, one in Tanah Abang and another on Jl. Dr. Wahidin, both in Central Jakarta, will operate until December because both are bound to contracts with state oil and gas company PT Pertamina. - JP
