Former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Antasari Azhar is scheduled later on Saturday to face a questioning by a fact finding team in connection with an alleged plot to frame two of his former deputies.

Antasari, who is standing trial for a murder case, will be accompanied by four lawyers during the questioning to be held at the presidential advisory council office in Central Jakarta.

One of the lawyers, Ari Yusuf Amir, said Antasari would bring along documents related to his testimony to the police concerning a bribery case involving KPK officials, including suspended KPK deputy chiefs Chandra M. Hamzah and Bibit Samad Rianto.

Ari denied allegations that his client was involved in the bribery case.

“It’s clear that based on the accounts of Ari Muladi and Edi Sumarsono, they never gave money to our client,” the lawyer was quoted by kompas.com, referring to witnesses in the high-profile case.

Police launched an investigation into Chandra and Bibit based on Antasari’s testimony while in detention after he was named a murder suspect. A tape recording revealed later an alleged plot involving a businessman and law enforcers to fabricate evidence to implicate Chandra and Bibit.
