JAKARTA: Indonesia's pencak silat fighters won three gold medals for the red-and-white squad, on Saturday at the third Asian Indoor Games, in Vietnam.
According to the official games website, info.vaigoc2009.com, Mulyono won gold after crushing Iranian Masoud Ghyasifar in Saturday's 75-kg-class final. Following this achievement, M. Sodik won the 65-kg class after beating Iranian Saeid Salehi, and Anissa Pangestina won the 60-kg class after beating Jutarat Noytapa from Thailand.
In the 60-kg class, Agus Triyono clinched a silver medal. The wushu team contributed another bronze medal on Saturday.
Indonesia's rank elevated to seventh with an overall six gold, three silver and 14 bronze medals. China were unbeatable in the overall medal tally, with 47 gold medals, while host country Vietnam came in second with 41. - JP
