The fact-finding team has delayed questioning former deputy attorney general Abdul Hakim Ritonga and former intelligence chief at the Attorney General's Office (AGO) Wisnu Subroto in an alleged fabrication of evidence in criminal cases involving leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Team member Anies Baswedan said Monday his team should have summoned Abdul and Wisnu along with another prosecutor, Irwan Nasution, today at 2 p.m.

“We have delayed the questioning because we have prioritized questioning new witnesses who are expected to give more valuable information,” Anies said as quoted by kompas.com.

Anies, however, did not want to mention the names of the new witnesses.

In a tape recording heard at the Constitutional Court last week, Wisnu allegedly talked with businessman Anggodo Widjojo, a brother of graft suspect Anggoro Widjojo. Ritonga was also named in the recording.

Ritonga has resigned from the second-highest post at the AGO over the case. He said the decision was to protect the institution's good name and facilitate the team's investigation. (ewd)
