AMPANG: The Sampang Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sport Agency has called for the central government's attention to the maintenance of eight cultural heritage buildings in the regency on Madura island.

Agency Head Achmad Bahrawi said that among the eight buildings were the Daksan Well in Delpenang sub-district and religious pilgrimage site in Sokobanah district.

"Both buildings are not maintained well. In fact, if maintained, they could be attractive tourist destinations," Bachrawi said Saturday.

He added that a lack of funds had been the cause for the lack of maintenance of the buildings.
