Army, Navy and Air Force

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono inagurated the new chiefs of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force on Monday.
Lt. Gen. George Toisuta, formerly the commander of the Army Strategic Force (Kostrad), is the new Army chief of staff; Vice Adm. Agus Suhartono, previously the inspector general of the Defense Ministry, is the new Navy chief of staff; and Rear Marshal Imam Sufaat, formerly the commander of the Air Force's corps I, is the new Air Force chief.
George replaced Gen. Agustadi Sasongko, Agus took over Adm. Tedjo Edhi Purdijanto's position, while Imam replaced Marshal Soebandrio.
The President said in his decree on the replacement that the three former chiefs were "discharged with honor".
There have been no official statements either from the Palace or the military over the reasons behind the replacements and the new positions of the replaced chiefs.
