A woman shocked by the earthquake in West Nusa Tenggara city of Bima died Monday after being treated for hours in the city hospital.
The quake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale rocked Bima regency and Bima city early in the morning, injuring hundreds of people and destroying at least 86 buildings while about 200 houses were slightly damaged.
Spokesman of the Bima regency administration Abdul Wahab told The Jakarta Post that the quake was felt in 18 districts in the regency, with Soromandi and Ambalawi being worst-hit districts.
He said at least 15 people seriously injured and 50 others mildly injured by the disaster were being treated at the city hospital.
The provincial government had delivered 5.5 tons of rice to Bima Regency and another 2.5 tons to Bima city. Medical teams were also sent to help the victims, according to Bachruddin, head of the Social, Population and Civil Registration Agency.
