resident Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will visit Malaysia and Singapore on Nov. 11-16, during which time he is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with several world leaders, including US President Barack Obama, while attending the APEC Summit and the first-ever ASEAN-US Summit.

Presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal said Tuesday that Yudhoyono would head to Malaysia on Wednesday, where he would first pay a courtesy call on His Majesty the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Mizan Zainal Abidin, before engaging in bilateral talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and the latter's Cabinet members.

"He will also attend a business luncheon in Kuala Lumpur and give a speech there," Dino said after a Cabinet meeting on the APEC Summit preparation at the presidential office.

He added the President would also meet with Indonesian and Malaysian members of the Eminent Persons Group Indonesia-Malaysia, a forum set up in 2007 to specially address issues in the Indonesian-Malaysian relationship.

After the Malaysia visit, Yudhoyono will head to Singapore and hold bilateral talks with Singaporean President Sellapan Rama Nathan and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, as well as a private talk with Singapore's Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.

On Nov. 13th, the Indonesian President is scheduled to deliver a speech at the APEC CEO Summit, and then attend the APEC leaders' meeting with other leaders.

"He has planned to share his concept of balanced growth and to talk about the Bogor Goals," Dino said.

He said the Bogor Goals, ratified during the APEC Summit in Indonesia's West Java town of Bogor in 1994, set goals for free and liberalized trade and investment in industrial countries by 2010 and in developing countries by 2020.

According to a schedule from the APEC organizing committee, during the APEC CEO Summit, Yudhoyono will speak alongside Hong Kong chief executive Sir Donald Tsang, former Pakistani prime minister Sahaukat Aziz and Chevron Global Upstream and Gas executive vice-president, Geroge Kirkland.

The President's speech will touch on the summit's theme of regulating the global economy for global growth, with a focus on changing the rules of the game within a global structure, after the recent financial crisis.

During the leaders' meeting, Yudhoyono and other leaders will discuss a range of strategic, economic and trade-related topics.

At the end of the meeting, the APEC Economic Leaders' declaration will be issued, outlining the leaders' shared views on key topics and setting APEC's strategic future direction.

On Nov. 15th, Yudhoyono will also attend the ASEAN-US Summit, the first-ever meeting between all 10 ASEAN member states and the US, which will discuss Myanmar, among others issues.

"After the summit the President is to meet with President Obama. We are still discussing the schedule with American officials," Dino said.
