A 5.5-magnitude earthquake hit Bintuhan in Bengkulu province on Sumatra Island in the early hours of Friday morning. No damage or injuries have been reported thus far.
The Meteorology, Geophysics and Climatology Agency reported the quake's epicenter was located 41 kilometers southwest of Bintuhan at 23 kilometers under the surface.
Bengkulu is located on the southwest coast of the island.
On Thursday evening, a 5.0-magnitude quake hit Krui, West Lampung, which is located on the same coastline.
