A government-sanctioned fact-finding team will submit its final report on the alleged criminalization of criminal cases of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono tomorrow.

Kompas.com reported Sunday that the team would hold an internal meeting to finalize their findings prior to the submission of the report.

One of the team members, Amir Syamsuddin, said that the team would also suggest that the Witness and Victims Protection Agency (LPSK) improve their performances.

“The LPSK should protect whistle blowers and avoid any possibility of being involved in  criminal plans,” Amir said.

He added the team of eight people had yet to recommend any sanctions for LPSK member Ketut Sudiharsa who was involved in a telephone conversation with businessman Anggodo Widjojo.

“It depends on whether or not the LPSK realizes that it has been misused by Anggodo.”

Anggodo is the brother of graft suspect Anggoro Widjojo.

The National Police have named suspended deputy chiefs of the KPK Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M. Hamzah as suspects for allegedly misusing their power in imposing and lifting travel bans on Anggoro and businessman Joko Tjandra.

The police have also accused both Bibit and Chandra of having received bribe money from Anggoro and therefore halted the investigation into a graft case at the Forestry Ministry that involves Anggoro. (ewd)
