Bekasi Police arrest suspects over attack

The Bekasi Police have arrested six people and are hunting for another suspect who were allegedly involved in damaging the Muara Gembong precinct station last week.

Bekasi Police chief detective Adj. Comr. Susatyo Purnomo Condro did not identify the six suspects.

“We believe they used projectiles to damage the Muara Gembong precinct and injure three policemen,” Susatyo told news portal tempointeraktif.com.

He added police would charge them with assault.

He said police had questioned 34 witnesses from the incident.

The incident was allegedly triggered by residents' anger after they were caught up in a motorcycle raid Tuesday night. Three officers at the Muara Gembong precinct station were wounded in the incident. (ewd)
