President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to meet with and receive recommendations from the government-sanctioned fact-finding team related with an alleged fabrication of criminal cases involving leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) tomorrow.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto said on Monday that the president would hold an internal meeting with some ministers in regard to the government's performances in the past one week while he was attending the APEC Summit in Singapore.
“The President will receive the team at the Presidential Palace tomorrow morning. I cannot decide when will the recommendation be presented to the public,” Djoko said as quoted by kompas.com.
Previously, the team was set to submit their final findings to the president today. The team has said it will include possible criminalization against KPK's leaders in its recommendations.
In its temporary findings, the team said that the National Police was lacking evidence to bring the anti-graft's suspended deputy chiefs Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M. Hamzah to the court.
The police have suspected Bibit and Chandra to have misused their power in imposing and lifting travel bans on graft suspect Anggoro Widjojo and businessman Joko Tjandra. The police have also accused them of having received bribes worth Rp 2. 5 billion (US$ 250,000) from Anggoro so that the KPK might halt its investigation into a graft case at the Forestry Ministry that involves Anggoro.
