JAKARTA: Singer Nugie is perhaps one of a few musicians who are loyal to maintaining their idealism in their music.
Nugie, who is set to launch his latest album soon, revealed that the new album would still highlight humanism and his love for Mother Nature.
“I don’t really think about whether the album will sell or not,” said Nugie, who has been a member of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) since 1997.
“For me, what matters is that I make good songs that relate to humanism and the environment.”
He said the album was expected to be out early next year.
“The title is Hati [Heart],” he said.
“It’s a continuation from my trilogy albums Earth, Air and Water. The new album shows off my more mature side.”
Nugie added that business and idealism should go side by side.
“They must be in balance,” he said.
“I’m grateful that my management has a good understanding [of my life philosophy].” — JP
