President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will not immediately take actions in response to a recommendation submitted by a fact finding team he formed to probe into an alleged plot to frame Corruption Eradication Commission leaders, citing an internal process he has to follow.

“As the head of state I wish to move fast. There is an internal process that we will go through. What I will do is something that flows in line with the Constitution, the law and other regulations in place,” Yudhoyono said after receiving the eight-strong team led by presidential advisor Adnan Buyung Nasution.

The President said the recommendation would be taken into account in his efforts to find the best settlement to the case.

He thanked the team for working day and night to dig facts and draft the recommendation.

”Reform in the legal affairs will be our priority, of course after receiving the report,” Yudhoyono said.

The case revolves around an alleged conspiracy between high-ranking officers of the National Police and Attorney Generals’ Office (AGO) to incriminate KPK deputy chiefs Chandra M. Hamzah and Bibit Samad Rianto, by framing them.

The team has said the police have no solid evidence to charge Chandra and Hamzah with abuse of power, bribery and blackmail.
