A fact-finding team met President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono Tuesday to submit a set of recommendations on concerns with a controversial case involving top officials at the National Police, the Attorney General's Office (AGO) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The President met with the team at the Presidential Office in Jakarta at around 2 p.m.

The team, set up by the President himself and chaired by prominent lawyer Adnan Buyung Nasution, finished its two-week job on Monday, verifying facts and questioning those involved in the case of suspended KPK deputies Chandra Hamzah and Bibit Samad Rianto.

The controversy revolves around an alleged conspiracy between high-ranking officers of the National Police and the AGO to incriminate Chandra and Bibit by framing them.

The team has said the police have no sufficient evidence to charge Chandra and Hamzah with abuse of power, bribery and blackmail.

The AGO had also returned the dossiers of Chandra and Bibit to the police so they could complete the additional evidence required.
