135 Papuans repatriated from PNG

JAYAPURA: As many as 135 Papuans have been repatriated from Papua New Guinea.

JAYAPURA: As many as 135 Papuans have been repatriated from Papua New Guinea.

Papua province secretary Tedjo Suprapto said on Wednesday that the 135 Papuans were flown in from Wewak city in PNG to Jayapura on board an Indonesian military Hercules plane.

Tedjo said the Papuans were among 300 residents who were planned to be repatriated this year by the provincial administration.

He said the rest would be repatriated on Nov. 22 from Port Moresby, PNG to Jayapura.

He said several regency administrations, such as Merauke, Boven Digoel, Merauke, Pegunungan Bintang, Keerom and Jayapura were ready to accept the residents.- JP
