Disgraced Deputy Attorney General, Abdul Hakim Ritonga, could potentially return to his post following his brief resignation, which was triggered by his alleged involvement in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) scandal.
"There is always a possibility for him to return to office. His resignation letter is still on my desk and no official follow-up measures have been taken," Attorney General Hendarman Supandji told reporters after a hearing at the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Thursday.
Ritonga resigned earlier this month after a controversial tape recording was played in a public hearing at the Constitutional Court.
The tape revealed a possible conspiracy between him and a number of high-ranking officials at the National Police to frame two KPK suspended deputy chairmen, Chandra M. Hamzah and Bibit Samad Riyanto.
