A 5.6-magnitude earthquake jolted North Sulawesi on Thursday morning, but there were no reports of injuries or damage.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency reported that the quake hit at 8:14 a.m., with its epicenter located 196 kilometers southeast of Melonguane, at 53 kilometers beneath the surface.
A series of moderate earthquakes has hit the area in the past few months.
Earlier this year, a 7.2-magnitude quake struck the city on the northern coast of Sulawesi, briefly triggering a tsunami warning causing residents to flee to higher ground.
