Police arrest major ecstasy dealer

JAKARTA: The Jakarta Police announced Wednesday they had arrested a West Jakarta resident for selling thousands of ecstasy pills.
The suspect was arrested Saturday while selling the pills.
"We recovered Rp 1.5 billion *US$159,000* worth of ecstasy pills from the suspect," Sr. Comr. Anjan Pramuka Putra, the narcotics division chief, said Wednesday.
Apart from 7,000 ecstasy pills, police also confiscated 17 grams of crystal methamphetamine from the suspect's rented house in Tamansari, West Jakarta.
Anjan said the suspect sold the pills in night clubs and discotheques for between Rp 150,000 and 200,000 each. - JP
