JAKARTA: The parking unit of the city's transportation agency will implement a subscription system for on-street parking next year.
Benyamin Bukit, the head of the agency's technical service division, said according to the plan, vehicle owners would be able to subscribe when they renewed their vehicle registration document (STNK) or vehicle ownership transfer fees (BBNKB).
An annual parking subscription fee for motorcycles will be set at Rp 35,000 while four-wheel vehicles will be charged Rp 75,000. The vehicle would get a sticker as proof of the subscription.
"We are still conducting a feasibility study and survey to anticipate any possible problems. We have to gauge the possible public response before any implementation," he was quoted as saying by news portal beritajakarta.com on Thursday. - JP
