JAKARTA: An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter Scale shook Yogyakarta and Klaten on Thursday afternoon but did not trigger any tsunamis.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has reported that the quake had occurred at 3:35 p.m.
The epicenter of the quake was 107 southwest Wonosari of Yogyakarta and was 23 kilometer beneath the earth, tempointeraktif.com has reported.
Resident Febrianti Ika Dewi said that the tremor was quitely felt in her office in Klaten. - JP
