A panel of experts says that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono must fully implement the recommendations of the fact-finding team, more popularly known as Team 8.
"If the president does not implement their recommendations, then there is a possibility for a people's revolution to take place," an expert from the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) Lili Romli said during a discussion at the House of Regional Representatives (DPD) in Senayan, South Jakarta, on Friday.
Yudhoyono previously said that he needed more time to examine the team's recommendations.
In one of the recommendations, the team wants the bribery allegations against two KPK suspended deputy chairmen, Chandra M. Hamzah and Bibit Samad Riyanto, to be dropped due to lack of evidence.
The team also wants total reform of the National Police, AGO, and the KPK to prevent future tussle between the law enforcement institutions.
Yudhoyono plans to give his final decision on Monday.
According to Lili, the recommendations were clear enough for the president to easily take any concrete follow up measures on them.
Another expert from the University of Indonesia, Rocky Gerung, agreed with Lili and said that the president would only put his neck on the line should he choose to ignore the recommendations.
"His first 100 days could very well be his last also," he said.
