JAKARTA: West Jakarta Police announced Thursday it has arrested a 55-year-old resident for the possession and alleged distribution of hundreds of Ecstasy pills.
"We caught him last week carrying 349 Ecstasy pills in Tebet, South Jakarta," West Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. A. Kamil Razak told reporters.
"Under the new *narcotics* law *the suspect is charged with violating*, those found guilty of possessing and distributing at least 5 grams of narcotics or 100 Ecstasy pills could face the death penalty," he said. - JP
