Anas Urbaningrum, an executive of the Democratic Party, said on Monday that his party would support any legal measures against the problematic bailout of Century Bank.

The Democratic Party, founded by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, has consistently opposed the planned establishment of an inquiry team by the House of Representatives to investigate the scandal.

Anas said that the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) should disclose the results of its investigation audit on the troubled Century Bank, whose bailout costs the state Rp 6.7 trillion (about $705 million).

"The public must be saved from disinformation, manipulation, rumors and slander," Anas told Tempointeraktif.com

Today, BPK is scheduled to hand over an audit report on the Century Bank to the House of Representatives.

Based on the audit report, the House would decide whether it would establish an inquiry team.
