President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met with leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hours before he announced to the public his decision on the alleged criminalization against the anti-graft body.

Suspended deputy chief of the KPK Bibit Samad Rainto told kompas.com briefly that he was summoned by the president.

Bibit, however, did not elaborate on the purposes of the meeting. All of the leaders left for the Presidential Palace at 1:40 p.m.

The President is set to present his decision tonight on how to solve the conflict between the KPK leaders and the National Police following the declaration of suspects from the anti-graft's leaders Bibit and Chandra M. Hamzah in alleged misuse of power and extortation cases.

Previously, the government-sanctioned fact-finding team had suggested the police and the Attorney General's Office (AGO) halt their investigations into the cases due to lack of evidence. (ewd)
