Your comments on the sluggishness of President Susilo Bambang Yudho-yono to respond recommendations offered by the fact-finding team, assigned to investigate the alleged criminalization of Chandra M. Hamzah and Bibit Samad Rianto - suspended deputy leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
As a democratically elected President, SBY should immediately respond the recommendations issued by the fact-finding team, which I believe represents justice.
Meanwhile, the police and the Attorney General's Office have been contaminated by various vested interests.
The President should push the total reform of both the police and AGO for a better Indonesia. Currently, the two institutions have been jeopardized by individuals, who try to protect their own interests.
Therefore, the President should crack down on those people as they have ruined the reputations of their institutions and the government.

SBY has always been slow and hesitant, but this time he may even break his own snail-pacing record, seeing as how deep his involvement is. Mr. President, the more you tarry, the more people will see you as a croc-lover!

I think the Supreme Court should have established the fact-finding team, not the President.
How come? Because the using a presidential team is out of legal procedure. And that is why the process is so slow.

Mr. President, don't be so apathetic. Be tough and decisive, because you are our only hope for the betterment of Indonesia.
We need not only a President who is a wise leader. Watch some films about Judge Bao, it would be a good place to start to refresh your memory.

Dear Mr. President, have you reconsidered every second that there is people power to push you? Be aware to avoid the pitfalls that befell Soeharto in 1998. People here surely do not wish them to reoccur. Thank you.

Appointing the fact-finding team to deal with the AGO and police scheme to criminalize the KPK deputies Bibit and Chandra is SBY's way of shifting responsibility away from himself for the time being, leaving the public locked in suspense.
It is quite apparent that SBY is reluctant to take strong action against the police and the AGO. He wants to be friends with everybody.
Well Mr. President, it just does not work that way. You cannot sit forever on the fence, postponing important decisions. The public is fed up with irregularities and abuse of power by the police and the AGO.
How many people are jailed despite their innocence? Heads should roll as advised by the fact-finding team. If you don't act upon their advice, why appoint them in the first place?
The team has successfully accomplished the task you entrusted them with. So act upon their advice.
Their findings have uncovered yet more corruption scandals involving the higher echelon. The public reelected SBY to stay on as President because they trusted him to continue his fight against corruption and because he seems to be the right leader for Indonesia.
Making the wrong decision will result in daily demonstrations, public unrest, students going out in the streets voicing their opinions and more hunger strikes.
Is this what you want SBY? Indonesia is standing at a crossroads now. International attention is focused on the KPK case and will affect investors intentions to either invest in Indonesia or go elsewhere due to an erroneous decision made at the highest level.
Power abuse should immediately be dealt with. The wrong decision will leave this country in chaos and will result in the escalation of corruption to gigantic proportions. The public does not want to witness the castration of the KPK!

There is a saying "slow and steady", so I think for the President to respond to the fact-finding team's recommendations on Monday is not such a bad idea.

As the President has only made a promise, it means that the problem concerning the KPK deputy leaders has not been solved yet.
It seems that more public pressure is needed to end the criminalization of KPK leaders.
We reject the plan of the police to send the corrupt cashiers to jail. The President should listen to the public.

So many parties to please, so little time to decide. I think SBY can't be expected to do exactly what Team 8 recommends because that'd be intervening justice.
Let the court decide. SBY should eradicate corrupt parties in the institutions and, by all means, he should fire the National Police chief, the Attorney General, and the head of KPK, if needed.
Create and apply a better system and control in those institutions. Let SBY decide, I think he has the brain and heart to decide what's best.

It is us, as Indonesians, who must take action to stop those who are abusing power. We, as Indonesians, must stop this together. It is our responsibility, it is our country, and it is the country that our children and our grandchildren will inherit.
We must take action! We must earn our freedom.
Freedom from tyranny of oppression. Oppression by corrupt officials, senate members, to further destroy our beloved nation. We must stop them.
Some people sincerely believe in Indonesia's bright future, some people like Antasari Azhar, Bibit and Chandra, who dare to fight people who intend to destroy this country through corruption.
Let's give everything we've got to protect our beloved nation. Support our heroes.
Our enemies have power and money to destroy, however, we have our conscience, beliefs and most of all, God on our side, God of righteousness, God of justice.

During his first term in office, President SBY always needed some time as a cooling-down period before taking decisions. No wonder that he is "slow" now, in responding to the recommendations of the fact-finding Team 8.
We don't know how the President will respond but I wish that his decision would be, first to strengthen the power and authority of the KPK, secondly, to let the case of both non-active KPK commissioners proceed through the due process of law, thirdly, if the Court pronounces the case unacceptable or declares the suspects not guilty, the National Police chief and the AG together with all their deputies should be sacked due to unprofessional conduct.

Because there are a lot of dirty laundry to be covered-up - that's why! Unfortunately even fresh fish stinks after 3 days. I am afraid that the President's respond will be consistent to Indonesia's 111th admirable position in the 2009 Corruption Perception Index just released by Transparency International.
