State Jakarta developer and recreation operator, PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, revealed Tuesday that it had netted more revenue on recreation rather than on real estate or trading and service.
Until September 2009, the company booked about Rp 508.7 billion (US$53.4 million) in sales revenue, in which Rp 417.7 billion was from the tourism sector. Revenue from the tourism sector increased by 15 percent compared to Rp 359.8 billion as of September of last year.
“The revenue has increased because of the new tariff which rose by 10 percent and the number of visitors that went up by 5 percent,” Pembangunan Jaya Ancol President Director Budi Karya Sumadi said in Jakarta.
Meanwhile real estate and trading and service sectors contributed Rp 51.3 billion and Rp 44.6 billion respectively.
In 2008, Pembangunan Jaya Ancol netted Rp 854.3 billion in sales revenue and Rp 132 billion in net profit.
The company is targeting to gain Rp 900 billion in sales revenue and Rp 137 billion in net profit this year.
