Urbanites are becoming increasingly resourceful when it comes to coping with the more and more frequent electricity cuts. Model turned soap opera actress Andi Soraya goes a bit extreme by sleeping in the car. But, she's probably lucky to have her car to escape to during hot, humid days without electricity.
"My children cannot sleep when it's hot. When there is a power cut, we sleep in the car with the air conditioning turned on," said the 33-year-old mother of two, as quoted by newsportal kapanlagi.com on Tuesday.
"I know it's supposed to be dangerous to sleep in the car, but what can I do when the children can't sleep in their dark, hot room?"
And it is not just the sleeping patterns of Andi's family that suffer from having no electricity. "It often happens during the day when we're supposed to do the laundry," Andi complained. "We have to delay cleaning the house, too."

Why is it that we, who pay taxes for continual (non-interrupted) clean water, protection from crime by the police, and electricity don't seem to get any of these services?
Why do we have such a situation? The government should stop talking and start doing something, like building power plants that are feasible for Indonesia.
As a country rich in natural resources, it is a shame our country and our people can't have a stable energy supply. I have to go to a cafe so that I can work with my laptop during the blackouts. Thank you government, for forcing me here.

Andi, don't sleep in your car. It is indeed dangerous because of the carbon monoxide, which will kill you silently. Buy a generator; PLN technicians will set it up for you.

It is very dangerous to sleep in a car when it is in idle. If there is a leak in the system, CO2 poisoning can occur, resulting in death.

Actually, it's CO (carbon monoxide), a colorless, odorless gas. Many victims have died when sleeping in their motionless vehicles with the air-conditioner switched on. The victims die in their sleep, not knowing they are being poisoned as they cannot smell or see carbon monoxide.

Good to see celebrities setting a good example by increasing pollution in the city and putting their own needs before those of the world and the environment.
If everyone turned their air conditioners off for a day they probably wouldn't need them as I imagine the temperature would reduce considerably.
