MATARAM: West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) General Election Commission (KPUD) has decided to hold seven elections in regencies and municipalities in the province on April 26, next year.
The elections will appoint a mayor of Mataram and regents in Central Lombok, North Lombok, West Sumbawa, Sumbawa, Dompu and Bima, NTB KPUD chairman Fauzan Khalid said.
"The elections will be conducted simultaneously to avoid a large number of voters moving from one electorate to another," Fauzan said.
If the elections go into a second round, it will be held on July 5, 2010, he said.
Fauzan said his office had sent letters to mayoralty and regency administrations to allocate funding for elections preparations. - JP
