Local officers have tightened security ahead of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's arrival in Ambon on Wednesday for World Peace Day.
The officers are tightly guarding roads that Yudhoyono, ambassadors and representatives from the United Nations will use. They are also securing public places, intersections and alleyways.
Personnel carrying weapons will be on standby around Pelita Park during the day’s activities.
Kompas.com reported that Yudhoyono was scheduled to receive an honorary title from local custom leaders Tuesday night. (ewd)
