JAKARTA: State prosecutors on Monday delayed reading their indictment for defendant Daniel Daen Sabon after he failed to attend a court hearing in the murder case of the former director of the state-owned firm PT Putra Rajawali Banjaran, Nasruddin Zulkarnaen.
Daniel is due to stand trial at Tangerang District Court for his alleged role in the murder. However, he also did not turn up to previous hearings.
Prosecutor Riyadi said he had informed the defendant on Friday to be present at the hearing. No reasons were mentioned for Daniel's absence, tempointeraktif.com reported.
Presiding Judge Muhammad Asnun said the court would give one last chance to prosecutors, to read their indictment on Nov. 30.
Daniel is suspected to have been one of the executors who killed Nasruddin in March, after the latter finished a game of golf in Tangerang.
The case also involves former chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Antasari Azhar and police officer Wiliardi Wizard. -JP
