State bank PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), the second biggest state bank in the country, officially announced its plan Wednesday to issue bonds worth a total Rp 3 trillion (US$315 million) to mature in five and 10 years, to expand its credit.
“The interest on the bonds is set at between 10 and 11.9 percent. They will be issued in December and will use a steady interest rate,” BRI finance director Sudaryanto Sudargo told journalists after a public offering event in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The yield for the five-year bonds was 9.4 percent and 10.3 percent for the 10-year bonds, he said.
The bonds will be listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (IDX) on Dec 17, he said.
“Rating agency PT Pefindo has given the issue an AA+ with a stable outlook,” he said, adding that BRI had appointed PT Danareksa Sekuritas, PT Bahana Securities and PT Mandiri Sekuritas to be its underwriters.
The book building is scheduled for Nov. 25 until Dec. 4, and the offering period will be between Dec. 10 and Dec. 11, 2009.
