Electricity pylon relocation to cause blackouts

JAKARTA: Residents around the East Flood Canal project in East Jakarta have been advised to anticipate blackouts amid plans to move an electricity pylon located in the area.

An official in charge of the canal construction, Parno, said the tower would be relocated by month-end.

"We have notified the residents to anticipate the blackouts," he said, adding that the blackouts will last from between six and nine days. Residents living in several areas in Bekasi, Tangerang and East Jakarta will also be affected by the blackouts. -JP
