Police question 23 students over Kupang riot

KUPANG: Police said Tuesday they had questioned 23 students for their alleged involvement in a riot and the burning of dozens of boarding rooms in Oesapa village, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.

The police arrested the students during a follow-up riot Monday evening, during an electricity blackout. The first brawl occurred Sunday evening, when the students razed 62 boarding rooms.

A witness said the students had been involved in a quarrel when the blackout occurred. - JP
